Non Ride On Games
Here at Inflatable PIPA Testing, we can now inspect non-ride-on games.
These include items like basketball shooters, Football goals, stick and kick dart board games, and any other non-ride-on games.
We cannot PIPA tag items like shelters, gladiator duels, bungee runs, human table footballs, and inflatable tracks for space hopers and didi cars, etc.
If you need help then please contact us for more information
We can even issue a PIPA tag for all qualifying inflatables that pass the inspection. great for your business to show you are having your inflatable inspected and looked after.
For new inflatables presented for inspection, we consider the below points.
- Maximum number of users
- User manuals – Operator paperwork – Post October 2023 – See below for pre-October 2023
- Anchor points – Numbers and Condition
- Unit pressure
- Ancillary equipment – Manufacturer supplied or approved or CE, UKCA marked
- Sharp edges
- Condition, wear and tear, etc
- Seam security
- Stitching – length, and thread
- Blower tube length
- Entrapment
- Air Loss
- Stability
- Markings and identification
- Fabric FR and Strength
- Zips
- Ropes
- Netting
- Blower Suitability and PAT
For Pre 2023 manufactured the items require the controller to have adequate risk assessments and unit operating instructions to allow the inflatable to be operated safely. these will need to be seen before a pass can be obtained.
Ideally, the inflatable owner (Controller) should seek the manufacturer’s user manual prior to the inspection.
This should include the following information
- Limitations on use – Not to be climbed on etc
- Maximum / Minimum age size of users, where relevant
- maximum wind speed – outdoor use
- Minimum operating pressure Kps
- List of equipment – balls, darts, etc- manufacturer-approved items – or CE, UKCA \marked for safe use
- Type and size of blower
- Operator/supervisor to maintain control of the game
The below pictures are some examples of the types of inflatables we can and cannot PIPA test.
The general rule for deciding if we can PIPA tag and inspect a non-ride-on game is if a person is contained or below the inflatable when it is being used it cannot be PIPA tagged yet. If the person is outside but sometimes interacts then it can be PIPA tagged as a non-ride-on game. Also, the inflatable has to be of the constant air type and not a sealed air type.
